St. James Catholic School offers a comprehensive education program and cultivates an atmosphere of belonging. Students develop academic rigor, practice faith in action, serve the community and explore enrichment opportunities. Whether engaging in hands-on classroom projects or devising independent service-learning experiences, students at St. James enjoy a plethora of opportunities to grow in faith and strengthen our community.
Academics
In addition to traditional classroom experiences, we offer our students the opportunity to excel through programs such as National Junior Honor Society, School-wide Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, and Spanish Bee.
Athletics
All students 5th grade and older are invited to participate in after-school sports. We are the only private school in Madison, Wisconsin where athletics are completely free for students!
After Care
Our After School Care Program is provided on-site for any student needing care outside of normal school hours. AfterCare is staffed by students from the University of Wisconsin School of Education and a full-time staff director.
Buddy Program
All students are paired with an older or younger “Buddy” within the school. Students sit together during Mass, visit each other’s classrooms, and are “reading buddies” in Library time.
Student Council
All students are welcome to participate in the Student Council. Student leadership is important to our students, and to us!
Safety Patrol
Junior high students are eligible to commit to Safety Patrol. Students are assigned a daily or weekly shift escorting a specific grade level to the school bus stop or the AfterCare program.
